TRADITION AND INNOVATION
M de Alejandría was born in Teulada-Moraira (Alicante), in the family house La Alberca, with one and a half hectares of vineyards that we planted in 2014. Inspired by the Ice Wines and with the expertise of Daniel Belda, Viticulturist and Winemaker from Bodegas Belda, we produce the wine by freezing Muscat grapes. We have great respect for tradition but we love the innovation.
In 2017, we had our first harvest with 1200 bottles. We are growing as the vineyard expands. From each harvest, we obtain a limited and numbered series. Currently, we are in the market with 4200 bottles from the 2021 harvest.
La Alberca
La Alberca house is located in Teulada-Moraira, in the province of Alicante, in the Marina Alta region. It’s a privileged coastal area characterized by capes, coves, mountains, and valleys.
The climate in the area, along with its proximity to the sea, makes this location perfect for cultivating Muscatel de Alejandría grapes, which originate from Africa. This variety is grown in the Mediterranean region, as the climate and proximity to the sea give it that characteristic flavor. It’s a highly versatile grape, consumed mostly as table grapes, raisins, or in our case, wine. It’s a sweet white wine with a fruity aroma, floral notes, and a slight acidity acquired from the preparation method.
